Environmental Impact Assessments
Riverside Business Park 2012 Rotherham Biomass Plant 2013 Sevenoaks School 2014
ROTHERHAM BIOMASS PLANT Location: Rotherham Client: Brite Partnership (North East) Ltd We prepared a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) for the proposed Biomass Energy Development at the Firth Rixson site, approximately 1.5km south west of Rotherham town centre, to be built by Brite Partnership (North East) Ltd. The LVIA formed a part of the Environmental Statement (ES) in support of the successful planning application. The Biomass Energy Development, which manufacture carbon neutral wood pellet fuels from locally produced sustainable sources of virgin timber products, was set over two adjoining sites. Due to the development being in a valley bottom our assessment evaluated the potential for significant environmental effects of the proposed development on the existing landscape character and quality, identifying visual intrusion and effects on skyline (height of proposed buildings). Photomontages for over 25 key views were produced including views from important public routes and places. We are currently working on the detailed landscape scheme for the development which is due to start in 2015.
